Methodology

How Aeroport works

A transparent look at where our numbers come from and how the net price is calculated.

1. Your location

We pick your nearest major airport from your approximate location (based on your IP address) so search starts where you are. You can change it any time, or tap "Use my location" for a precise match. Your choice is remembered on your device.

2. Fares

For each search we look up recent real fares on your route and date. These come from the Aviasales/Travelpayouts data feed, built from real traveller searches in roughly the last 48 hours, and — when enabled — live Google Flights results. Airline prices change constantly, so a fare can rise or sell out before you book.

3. Net price per site

For every flight we calculate an estimated checkout total on each booking site:

Net price = fare for all travellers + convenience fee (per traveller, per flight) − best eligible coupon

Fees come from a dated table we review regularly. Only coupons with fixed, known terms are deducted; a fee-waiver code competes with discount codes, because sites allow one code per booking. Metasearch sites (Skyscanner, KAYAK) have no fee of their own. The lowest result is marked "Lowest net".

When live seller quotes are available (for some one-way searches), we show the exact price each seller listed alongside our estimate.

4. Booking

"Book" opens the site's own search with your route, dates, travellers and cabin pre-filled, and copies the relevant coupon to your clipboard. You complete the booking on that site.

5. Price alerts

Every day at 06:00 IST we re-check each tracked route. If the fare is at or below your target, the alert is marked and — if you confirmed an email — we send you a message. Alerts for past dates are deleted automatically.

Limits we're open about

  • Cached fares may not include every flight on a route.
  • Fee and coupon figures are estimates; the booking site has the final word.
  • Cached fares are economy class. Premium cabins are priced on the booking sites.

Select a country to see more tickets from local carriers. Sometimes such tickets are cheaper.
